Notes: Composed for the choir of St. John’s, Beverly Farms, Massachusetts, directed by Mark Dirksen, to honor Helene Canning, a long-time (50 yrs.) chorister. The church had just added a large solo French trumpet to the organ. First performance in November of 1988. (N.B. This hymn is also set in “Cantate Domino, canticum novum.”)
The first and only performance.
