D No: 529
Performing Forces: 3 B-flat trps, 3 trbs, tuba, timp, organ
Date Published: CE 88
Date of Composition: 1974
Notes: Fanfares at the Acclamation (BCP p. 522). Used at the Installations of Presiding Bishops John Allin (1974) and Edmund Browning (1986). Here Dirksen deploys all the cathedral's musical resources for the liturgical climax: Two live brass choirs, the Great Organ, and the lower 7 bells of the peal in an extension of the Queen's Change. Trbs first, then trps, then organ, than all three combined.
First and only performance to date.
