O lux beata

Genre: Instrumental & Fanfares
D No: 505
Performing Forces: carillon
Date Published: MS
Date of Composition: 1963
Notes: Composed for Ronald Barnes, first cathedral carillonneur to play on the dedication recital in September of 1963. The work is dedicated to the memory of Newell Ellison, Jr., a St. Albans graduate, who was murdered in August of that year as I was planning this work. That is why the hymn text and plainsong tune was selected.
